First Time at Powerlady Fitness?


At Powerlady Fitness we understand that going to the gym for the first time can be intimidating. Here are a few things that will help to make your first time coming in not be so scary or stressful!


If I am going to a class, when should I get there?

If you already have a membership, we ask you to try to be five to ten minutes early. That way you can have time to check in and set up equipment (if needed) without rushing.

If you aren’t a member and trying a class for the first time try to come 10 minutes early so we can get you signed in and situated.

It is important to know that we have a five minute class policy. This means that five minutes after that class has started the door closes and no one else can join the class.

What should I wear to workout?

The most important thing when working out is PROPER FOOTWEAR. We require that all women using our facilities wear close toed shoes (except for yoga/pilates). In addition to proper footwear, wear clothes that you feel comfortable working out in.

What should I bring to work out?

Staying hydrated is important when it comes to staying hydrated, so try to remember to bring a water bottle. Don’t worry if you forget one because we have a water fountain.

If you signed up for a membership, bring your key card to sign in! If you do happen to forget, don’t sweat it because we can check you in.

The most important thing to bring is to bring a good attitude!

I’ve never used the machines or equipment at the gym before. How can I learn?

Ask the front desk! We are more than happy to show you how to use the equipment. Also, on our weight machines, there are posted instructions on how to use them.
